Pillow is stuffed with ways to improve your sleep. The app tracks your z’s, records your moods, and follows your daily routine to help you establish a consistent sleep pattern, night after night. We love the app’s intersection of sleep and data. Tell Pillow about your daily routine—including your mood, meal times, and amount of caffeine you’ve consumed—and it’ll begin to learn what’s helping and hindering you at night.
Just what I need

I’ve been using the app for a couple years now, but it has definitely helped more recently with the new job I started about 6 months ago. I work 7 on 7 off overnights, so I change from day sleeping to night sleeping every week. This app is a godsend for not only helping me track my sleep, but also helps me wake up in a sleep phase that allows me to feel more rested. I love that I can set an alarm and it’ll calculate on screen how much sleep time I’ll get based on the current time (because I’m tired and one less thing to calculate is more helpful than I could’ve imagined) and it lets you pick a window of time so it can try to wake you at that ideal sleep phase. The other thing I love is that not only can you set an alarm for a timeframe, but you can also set one for duration of sleep. When I’m transitioning back to night sleep, I get off in the morning and need to only sleep a few hours or I won’t be able to sleep that night. So I can make an alarm for X hours and it’ll wake me when I’ve actually slept that amount of time not just X hours after hitting start (great for catnaps too so it doesn’t start counting time until you fall asleep). Honestly, I don’t use all the features the app has to offer, but just the little I do is all I need. The only thing that I don’t love is not being able to just start the alarm on my watch without also needing the phone app open, but I always have my phone charging by my bed anyway so not a huge deal I just forget sometimes and it’ll error on my watch until I open my phone. I definitely recommend trying this app!

Hi! Thank you so much for your kind and detailed feedback! 🌙💜We’re so glad to hear that Pillow has been helping you manage your rotating overnight schedule and improve your rest, that’s exactly what we aim for.By the way, it’s actually possible to use Pillow solely on your Apple Watch without opening the iPhone app, as long as you choose a preset that doesn’t require iPhone features like the sleep aid or audio recordings. If you’d like more details, feel free to reach out to us through the Helpdesk in Pillow’s settings, we’ll be happy to guide you!
Really enjoying the insight!

One of the main things I use my Apple Watch for is to track my sleep. I’ve definitely noticed some helpful patterns over the past year. I tend to over sleep (takes about 9 hours for my body to feel rested and want to get up on it’s own). Could mostly be an antidepressant medication side effect or lack of exercise lately, but I’ve always been a sleepy head). Using the Pillow app, I can see that when I have to force myself to get up after only 7 hours, the quality of sleep is overall way better (barring any nightly disturbances such as noisy neighbors and the like). In the hours that I oversleep, I don’t get any deep sleep and minimal REM, so it really doesn’t provide much benefit.Knowing that I should try to limit oversleeping, Pillow has even made forcing myself to get up a lot better! Being able to set an alarm and have the app wake me up before the time I set based on what stage of the sleep cycle I’m in has made it so much easier for me to get up and not want to hit snooze (e.g if it senses I will be in a deep sleep at the set time for the alarm, it will wake me up a little beforehand when I’m only in a light sleep so I don’t feel groggy). I’m also thankful for having an alarm that is just a gentle buzz on my wrist….SO much more pleasant than having a noise blaring in my phone and having to find and silence it! All-in-all, I’ve just never been great at waking up. I am not a morning person in the least and have always been envious of people that are — people that just get up and go. I’ll never be that, but I feel like Pillow was made for people like me. A huge thank you to the developers!! I love this app. 💜🙌🤍💜🤍🙏💜

Not intuitive on Apple Watch

I like the app and would rate higher but the Apple Watch issue really drives down the value for me at this point. - My suggestion is to find a way to simplify how the sleep analysis works on Apple Watch and ensure that it does so consistently. Not to mention if you need troubleshoot support that you can get it from beginning to end. It seems it worked fine when I first got the watch (3 days of painless reporting on my watch) and now it never shows my sleep analysis information on the watch. I’ve basically gotten fed up with attempting to trouble shoot - no real help from support. Now I just let it do it’s thing when I sleep (automatic tracking), and check the app on my phone now after spending almost 2 weeks trying to figure out the issue. I’ve done every possible fix available - still doesn’t update on my watch. Now I just use Apple sleep complications for my watch main screen and just check Pillow on my phone. It’s a little frustrating tho - not going to lie. I personally love the color and design of the analysis of Pillow for the main watch screen complication over the Apple sleep analysis, but I can’t get it to work and frankly I’m over trying. I pay for premium and considering that - I’d like to access all the functionality but at this point I’m tired of banging my head on the wall. Other than that (which is so so SO frustrating) it’s alright, but this pain point definitely drives my review scoring. Otherwise, I’d give the app 4-5 stars.
