Feeling Tappy turns a real, documented moment in fintech history into an interactive website. To climb an early fintech waitlist, people once tapped a fake debit card up to 1,000 times a day — and a 2020 Massachusetts securities filing (Docket E-2020-0047) quotes the app telling them:
"out of taps today! Come back tomorrow if you're feeling tappy."
At tappy.site you tap a worn card that tires, dog-ears and cracks as its count climbs, while a live countdown runs to the launch of $TAPPY.
The phrase and the tapping mechanic are drawn from the Administrative Complaint, In the Matter of Robinhood Financial, LLC, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Securities Division, Docket E-2020-0047.
