Description

My (Steve Williams) cover design for the 43rd issue of WACCI - May 1990. It was a humorous attempt to reflect growing unrest amongst the maily CPC-based membership as to what they perceived as "appeasement" to the growing number of PC-owners who were pushing for the magazine to be produced on a more professional PC DTP system rather than the Amstrad CPC that we were using. The "cut and paste" montage shows the famous picture of Neville Chamberlain returning after the Munich Agreement of 1938 with Adolf Hitler. He waved the agreement above his head and said "This document ensures peace in our time"... a year later World War Two started... My take on this, as a cunning editor, was to stay neutral and to show him waving a copy of WACCI above his head and saying "PCs in our time?"

I thought it was clever and it did in fact "appease" the membership for a couple of months or so. Anyway WACCI ran from 1985 to 2005, this is my cover and intellectual copyright and I gladly pass it over into the public domain providing my name gets a mention somewhere in the samll print!
