Optimizing Performance With NVIDIA GPUS
Video analytics appliances utilize graphic processing units (GPU) and central processing units (CPU) to process crucial video data. GPUs act as accelerators, enabling heavier workloads to be processed simultaneously, from encryption to networking to AI. GPUs offer high throughput and are ideal for parallel processing because they can perform thousands of operations at the same time, unlike CPUs that are limited in functionality.
GPU-based analytics appliances have the power to quickly render and process large amounts of visual data at-the-edge, more so than standard video data infrastructure.
BCD utilizes several specific graphic card types for our analytics appliances to achieve optimal performance, including:
- NVIDIA Quadro RTX4000: NVIDIA’s Quadro RTX4000 offers up to 8 gigabytes (GB) of memory, 2,304 CUDA cores and 288 tensor cores to manage the most intensive graphic workloads.
- NVIDIA RTX A4000: NVIDIA’s RTX A4000 provides 16 GB of memory, 6,144 CUDA cores and 192 third-generation tensor cores to deliver an even more enhanced computing experience.
- NVIDIA T400: NVIDIA’s T400 offers 384 CUDA cores and either 2 or 4 GB of memory to pack ample power into a small, efficient package.
- NVIDIA T1000: NVIDIA’s T1000 delivers 4 GB of GDDR6 memory and 896 CUDA cores to provide exceptional detail and efficiently handle multi-app workflows.
- NVIDIA RTX A4500: NVIDIA’s RTX A4500 combines 224 third-generation tensor cores, 56 second-generation RT cores, 7,168 CUDA cores and 20 GB of memory to provide the ultimate GPU solution for superior graphics.
