Abstract: The BM@N experiment (Baryonic Matter at the Nuclotron) is the first fixed-target experiment at the JINR NICA accelerator complex. In this work, data on the interactions of a carbon-ion beam with kinetic energies of 4.0A~GeV and 4.5A~GeV with C, Al, Cu, and Pb targets are used to measure transverse momentum spectra and rapidity distributions of $Λ$ hyperon yields. The results are compared with the… ▽ More

Emergent Bell-Triplet State in Proton-Proton Scattering

    Authors: Z. X. Shen, H. Y. Shang, Y. G. Ma, D. Bai, S. M. Wang, Z. C. Xu, Y. Ayyad, C. Filgueira

Abstract: Entanglement is a key resource in quantum information science, yet its properties and applications in nuclear systems remain largely unexplored. Here, using proton-proton scattering as a quantum laboratory, we report the emergence of a near-pure Bell-triplet state at a laboratory energy of 151 MeV and a center-of-mass scattering angle of 90 degrees. Abstract: At the origin of the Universe, asymmetry between the amount of created matter and antimatter led to the matter-dominated Universe as we know today. The origins of this asymmetry remain not completely understood yet. High-energy nuclear collisions create conditions similar to the Universe microseconds after the Big Bang, with comparable amounts of matter and antimatter. Much of the created antimatt… ▽ More

Abstract: We measure triangular flow relative to the reaction plane at 3 GeV center-of-mass energy in Au+Au collisions at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Abstract: A decisive experimental test of the Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME) is considered one of the major scientific goals at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) towards understanding the nontrivial topological fluctuations of the Quantum Chromodynamics vacuum. In heavy-ion collisions, the CME is expected to result in a charge separation phenomenon across the reaction plane, whose strength could be s… ▽ More

  44. Recent Progress in Two-proton Radioactivity

    Authors: L. Zhou, S. M. Wang, D. Q. Fang, Y. G. Ma

Abstract: During the last few decades, rare isotope beam facilities have provided unique data for studying the properties of nuclides located far from the beta-stability line. Such nuclei are often accompanied by exotic structures and radioactive modes, which represent the forefront of nuclear research. Among them, two-proton (2p) radioactivity is a rare decay mode found in a few highly proton-rich isotopes… ▽ More

(330 additional authors not shown)

Abstract: We present the first measurements of transverse momentum spectra of $π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p(\bar{p})$ at midrapidity ($|y| < 0.1$) in U+U collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 193 GeV with the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The centrality dependence of particle yields, average transverse momenta, particle ratios and kinetic freeze-out parameters are discussed. The results… ▽ More

Abstract: We report the beam energy and collision centrality dependence of fifth and sixth order cumulants ($C_{5}$, $C_{6}$) and factorial cumulants ($κ_{5}$, $κ_{6}$) of net-proton and proton distributions, from $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 3 - 200$ GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC. The net-proton cumulant ratios generally follow the hierarchy expected from QCD thermodynamics, except for the case of collisions at… ▽ More

Abstract: We report on measurements of sequential $Υ$ suppression in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 200 GeV with the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) through both the dielectron and dimuon decay channels. In the 0-60% centrality class, the nuclear modification factors ($R_{\mathrm{AA}}$), which quantify the level of yield suppression in heavy-ion collisions compar… ▽ More

    Authors: X. G. Den, P. Danielewicz, Y. G. Ma, H. Lin, Y. X. Zhang

Abstract: Within the improved quantum molecular dynamic (ImQMD) model we follow the evolution of nuclear matter for planar Couette flow in a periodic box. We focus on the region of liquid-gas phase transition and extract the shear viscosity coefficient from the local stress tensor, directly following viscosity definition. By switching on and off the mean field and thus inducing the phase transition, we are… ▽ More
