Abstract: Chirality lies at the heart of low-energy QCD, governing the symmetry structure that shapes hadron masses and strong interaction dynamics. Among the most compelling open questions tied to chiral dynamics and spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking is the longstanding $Λ$ polarization puzzle, in which $Λ$ hyperons produced in unpolarized hadronic collisions exhibit a surprisingly large transverse pola… ▽ More

Abstract: We search for $Ξ^0p$, $Ω^-p$, and $Ω^-n$ dibaryon states in $Υ(1S)$ and $Υ(2S)$ decays, probing mass regions near the corresponding baryon-pair thresholds. Multistrange baryon-baryon interactions are relevant to neutron-star matter but remain largely unconstrained. Experimental and theoretical studies supporting attractive $ΞN$ and $ΩN$ interactions, where $N$ denotes a nucleon, motivate searches… ▽ More

Abstract: The fraction of $χ_{c1}$ and $χ_{c2}$ decays in the prompt $J/ψ$ yield, $F_{χc}=σ_{χ_c \to J/ψ}/σ_{J/ψ}$, is measured by the LHCb detector in pPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=8.16$ TeV. The study covers the forward ($1.5<y^*<4.0$) and backward ($-5.0<y^*<-2.5$) rapidity regions, where $y^*$ is the $J/ψ$ rapidity in the nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass system. Abstract: Inelasticity--the fraction of a neutrino's energy transferred to hadrons--is a quantity of interest in the study of astrophysical and atmospheric neutrino interactions at multi-TeV energies with IceCube. In this work, a sample of contained neutrino interactions in IceCube is obtained from 5 years of data and classified as 2650 tracks and 965 cascades. Tracks arise predominantly from charged-curren… ▽ More

Abstract: An experiment for $p(^{14}\rm{C}$,$^{14}\rm{C}^{*}\rightarrow^{10}\rm{Be}+α)\mathit{p}$ inelastic excitation and decay was performed in inverse kinematics at a beam energy of 25.3 MeV/u. A series of $^{14}\rm{C}$ excited states, including a new one at 18.3(1) MeV, were observed which decay to various states of the final nucleus of $^{10}\rm{Be}$. Abstract: Neutrinos interact only very weakly, so they are extremely penetrating. However, the theoretical neutrino-nucleon interaction cross section rises with energy such that, at energies above 40 TeV, neutrinos are expected to be absorbed as they pass through the Earth. Experimentally, the cross section has been measured only at the relatively low energies (below 400 GeV) available at neutrino beams fro… ▽ More

Abstract: $^{6}$He+$t$ cluster states of exited $^{9}$Li have been measured by 32.7 MeV/nucleon $^{9}$Li beams bombarding on $^{208}$Pb target. Two resonant states are clearly observed with the excitation energies at 9.8 MeV and 12.6 MeV and spin-parity of 3/2$^{-}$ and 7/2$^{-}$ respectively. These two states are considered to be members of K$^π$=1/2$^{-}… ▽ More

  46. Research on the halo in $^{31}$Ne with complex momentum representation method

Authors: Ya-Juan Tian, Quan Liu, Tai-Hua Heng, Jian-You Guo

Abstract: Halo is one of the most interesting phenomena in exotic nuclei especially for $^{31}$Ne, which is deemed to be a halo nucleus formed by a $p-$wave resonance. However, the theoretical calculations don't suggest a $p-$wave resonance using the scattering phase shift approach or complex scaling method. Here, we apply the complex momentum representation method to explore resonances in $^{31}$Ne. We hav… ▽ More

Quenching Measurements and Modeling of a Boron-Loaded Organic Liquid Scintillator

Authors: Shawn Westerdale, Jingke Xu, Emily Shields, Francis Froborg, Frank Calaprice, Thomas Alexander, Ani Aprahamian, Henning O. Back, Clark Casarella, Xiao Fang, Yogesh K. Gupta, Edward Lamere, Qian Liu, Stephanie Lyons, Mallory Smith, Wanpeng Tan

Abstract: Organic liquid scintillators are used in a wide variety of applications in experimental nuclear and particle physics. Boron-loaded scintillators are particularly useful for detecting neutron captures, due to the high thermal neutron capture cross section of $^{10}$B. These scintillators are commonly used in neutron detectors, including the DarkSide-50 neutron veto, where the neutron may produce a… ▽ More

Abstract: We have measured the ionization efficiency of silicon nuclear recoils with kinetic energy between 1.8 and 20 keV. We bombarded a silicon-drift diode with a neutron beam to perform an elastic-scattering experiment. A broad-energy neutron spectrum was used and the nuclear recoil energy was reconstructed using a measurement of the time of flight and scattering angle of the scattered neutron. The over… ▽ More

Abstract: A cluster-transfer experiment $^9$Be($^9$Be,$^{14}$C$^*\rightarrowα$+$^{10}$Be)$α$ was carried out using an incident beam energy of 45 MeV. This reaction channel has a large $Q$-value that favors populating the high-lying states in $^{14}$C and separating various reaction channels. Abstract: A cluster-transfer experiment of $^9\rm{Be}(^9\rm{Be},^{14}\rm{C}\rightarrowα+^{10}\rm{Be})α$ at an incident energy of 45 MeV was carried out in order to investigate the molecular structure in high-lying resonant states in $^{14}$C.
