Electromagnetically induced grating based on strongly coupled disperse red1 molecules

Authors: Xiaotong Bu, Jingsong Yuan, Chunliang Wang

Abstract: In this study, optically responsive exciton-polariton were generated via strong coupling between DR1 molecules and an F-P microcavity. An electromagnetically induced grating (EIG) was constructed using two-beam interference to investigate EP modulation effects.EP formation was confirmed by transmission spectroscopy, angle-dependent measurements, and k-space reflection. Rabi splitting increased wit… ▽ More

Isolated elliptically-polarized attosecond pulse generation in gapped graphene driven by linearly polarized laser fields

Authors: Xinru Song, Xiaoyu Bu, Xiaohui Zhao, Rongxiang Zhang, Shang Wang, Fulong Dong

Abstract: We theoretically investigate high-order harmonic generation (HHG) and its ellipticity in gapped graphene, driven by a femtosecond short-pulse laser at various orientation angles, employing the two-band density-matrix equations within the tight-binding approximation. The orientation-dependent harmonic spectra exhibit pronounced enhancement of specific harmonics, which we attribute to the caustic ef… ▽ More

Sound insulation performance of multi-layer membrane-type acoustic metamaterials based on orthogonal experiments

Authors: Jun Lan, Yumin Zhou, Xin Bu, Yifeng Li

Abstract: The challenge of achieving effective sound insulation using metamaterials persists in the field. In this research endeavor, a novel three-layer membrane-type acoustic metamaterial is introduced as a potential solution. Through the application of orthogonal experiments, remarkable sound insulation capabilities are demonstrated within the frequency spectrum of 100-1200 Hz. The sound insulation princ… ▽ More

Frequency-Modulation Mode-Locked Laser with GHz Spectral Width Tunable in the 2-3 um Region

Authors: Zheyuan Zhang, Xiangbao Bu, Daiki Okazaki, Wenqing Song, Ikki Morichika, Satoshi Ashihara

Abstract: A narrow-bandwidth actively mode-locked laser using a Cr:ZnS gain medium has been successfully demonstrated. A free-space electro-optic phase modulator is employed in the solid-state laser resonator to achieve frequency-modulation (FM) mode-locking, which achieves a narrow spectral width of ~1 GHz and a pulse duration of ~500 ps over a wide tuning range of 1947-2445 nm. The operation frequency of… ▽ More

Authors: P. Adamson, C. Ader, M. Andrews, N. Anfimov, I. Anghel, K. Arms, E. Arrieta-Diaz, A. Aurisano, D. Ayres, C. Backhouse, M. Baird, B. A. Bambah, K. Bays, R. Bernstein, M. Betancourt, V. Abstract: This paper reports the first measurement using the NOvA detectors of $ν_μ$ disappearance in a $ν_μ$ beam. The analysis uses a 14 kton-equivalent exposure of $2.74 \times 10^{20}$ protons-on-target from the Fermilab NuMI beam. Assuming the normal neutrino mass hierarchy, we measure $Δm^{2}_{32}=(2.52^{+0.20}_{-0.18})\times 10^{-3}$ eV$^{2}$ and $\sin^2θ_{23}$ in the range 0.38-0.65, both at the 68%… ▽ More

Abstract: We report results from the first search for $ν_μ\toν_e$ transitions by the NOvA experiment. In an exposure equivalent to $2.74\times10^{20}$ protons-on-target in the upgraded NuMI beam at Fermilab, we observe 6 events in the Far Detector, compared to a background expectation of $0.99\pm0.11$ (syst.) events based on the Near Detector measurement. A secondary analysis observes 11 events with a backg… ▽ More
