  16. Borrmann Effect in Photonic Crystals: Nonlinear Optical Consequences

    Abstract: Nonlinear-optical manifestations of the Borrmann effect that are consequences of the spectral dependence of the spatial distributions of the electromagnetic field in a structure are observed in one-dimensional photonic crystals.     Third-order Self-action Effects in Photonic Microcavities

    Abstract: Third-order nonlinear optical effects in photonic microcavities are studied. Significant light defocusing in the thin nonlinear microcavity spacer was observed. The polarization self-action effect was detected, when the large nonlinear polarization rotation angle arises when exciting the microcavity mode, being proportional to the radiation intensity.
