  • What happens when six European countries decide to join forces? 🌍🇪🇺   In 1957, they signed the Treaty of Rome, creating a common market where people, goods, services and capital could move more freely.   It was a bold step that would transform Europe and bring us closer to the EU we know today!

Ever noticed that your favorite snacks are shrinking while the price stays the same? We are tackling deceptive practices through EU consumer protection laws against hidden price hikes. Clear unit pricing (per kilo / litre) is mandatory, helping you to easily spot ‘shrinkflation’ on the shelf and to compare products. EU laws empower national authorities to stop misleading presentation by the trader, designed to trick you into misjudging a product’s real size. Let’s take the guesswork out of shopping 🛒 Consumer protection is a priority in the EU’s Single Market. Discover how our Consumer Agenda can make a difference in your everyday life 👉  https://lnkd.in/eCzuMV9T

    • Graphic showing two chocolate bars in purple wrappers. The bar on the left is whole, while the bar on the right has a bite taken out of it and is marked “NEW”. Text reads: “Who took a bite of my chocolate? Fighting shrinkflation for good.” EU flag logo appears in the bottom right.

Your mobile data shouldn't crawl just because you crossed the border. Under our ‘roam like at home', operators in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway cannot ‘throttle’ your speed abroad. If 5G is available in the country you are visiting, you must have access to it at the same quality as at home. Since January 2026, Ukraine and Moldova have also joined the EU’s ‘roam like at home area.’  Next up? Albania and Montenegro, with negotiations aiming to bring them in by the end of this year or early 2027. The plan is to bring in all Western Balkans countries by 2028. Because your connection should be as smooth as your travel plans. 😎

    • An infographic titled "Things allowed to crawl on my European vacation" featuring a pie chart styled as a green street map of Prague. The legend shows a green circle representing "Me crawling back to the hotel after 25,000 steps" making up 100% of the chart, and a red circle representing "My 5G roaming data plan" at 0%.
  • Wildfires have been raging across Europe, taking lives and destroying homes, ecosystems, farmland, infrastructure, cultural heritage and local economies. No country should face wildfires alone. Europe stands together. Firefighting teams and helicopters are being sent where they are needed the most through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. EU earth observation system Copernicus is supporting the emergency services through rapid and reliable geospacial information. Because we protect what matters.

    • A firefighter in protective gear tackles a wildfire as flames spread across a field. The EU flag appears above, with the text: “Fighting wildfires together.”
  • Since January 2025, nothing touching your food in Europe can contain Bisphenol A.    Not your water bottle. Not your tin of tomatoes. Not your food containers.   BPA is a chemical that used to be widely used in food-contact materials, like plastics and can linings – until studies established its bad effects on the immune, reproductive and developmental systems.   Maintaining high food safety standards in the European Union and protecting citizens is one of our top priorities.   — Regulation (EU) 2024/3190: BPA ban in food-contact materials. In force since 20 January 2025

    • A parody magazine cover titled "D'nR: DIRECTIVES & REGULATIONS," Issue 04, Summer '26. The main headline reads "BISPHENOL-A BANNED FROM EUROPE." The main image shows a hand holding open a green plastic lunchbox packed with rice cakes, cheese, cucumber, salad greens, carrot sticks, and apple slices. In the upper right corner, an inset photo shows a light blue plastic container with a yellow lid that has stylized eyes and large red lips pasted onto it, giving it a human face. Below it, a quote box reads: "'All I wanted was to contain leftovers, not controversy' – Maggy, a faithful houseware."
  • Some of the best EU wins are the ones you don’t notice.    Until you do.    🔹 Travel across 27 countries without visas.  🔹 No roaming charges when travelling in the EU.   🔹 Food safety rules that help keep what’s on your plate safe.   🔹 Charge your devices with one common charger.  We work to make everyday life a little easier, safer and more sustainable.  What’s one EU win you wouldn’t want to live without?

  • Mission: Moving out of your rental Plan: The European Affordable Housing Initiative     We’re working to make buying a place to live in your 20s more realistic. 🏡    Some of the EU’s plans:    🏚️ Make more existing buildings suitable for housing   💡 Improve housing conditions, including energy performance  💰 Improve market conditions through changes in taxation  🪙 Offer long-term loans with favourable interest rates    And there’s more: https://lnkd.in/egWfXz-J     The lack of affordable housing will no longer be a barrier to young people’s economic security.

    • The image shows a floor plan of an apartment. There are two distinct sections in the plan, indicated with red and blue outlines. The red-outlined section contains a bedroom with a bed and a note that says, ‘The housing I was renting.’ The blue-outlined section is bigger and includes the living room, kitchen, and bathroom with a note that says, ‘The housing I’m aiming to buy.’ The European Union flag is present in the bottom right corner.
  • Before you dive in, check the facts. 🏊♂️ With 85% of EU waters already hitting ‘excellent’ standards, we’re making sure the only thing you bring home is the sand. We monitor over 22,000 bathing spots annually and are now moving to real-time digital reporting.  And we have a webpage where you can check the real time safety status of your local beach on your phone. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eudEPBrQ

    • Five swimmers standing in a line on a sandy beach wearing swimwear and swimming gear, with arms raised straight above their heads in a diving pose. Text overlay reads: "YOU CAME PREPARED. SO IS THE WATER. 85% OF EU BATHING WATER ARE RATED EXCELLENT." The European Union flag appears in the top-right corner.
