Imagine choosing the audio in a theater, airport, or stadium as easily as picking a WiFi network. That is Auracast. Thanks to the Bluetooth SIG we were able to provide Auracast to attendees at the CES Accessibility Stage, and have a session highlighting the technology. On the CES Accessibility Stage, the Bluetooth SIG, Listen Technologies, and Williams AV showed how this new broadcast technology sends sound straight to hearing aids, earbuds, and cochlear implants. No pairing, unlimited listeners. As Henry Wong of the Bluetooth SIG explained, “the transmitter will broadcast audio to an unlimited number of receivers. The smartphone does not need to be involved.” Luke Westin of Williams AV put the human stakes plainly: “Sound is not part of the experience. Sound is the experience.” For millions, that experience has come with barriers. Auracast starts to remove them. Disney is even rolling it out on a new cruise ship in 2026.
