UWB is about more than precise ranging and location. In a recent WiFi NOW Tech Watch interview, Frederic Nabki, co-founder and CTO of SPARK Microsystems, discusses the potential of Ultra-Wideband for deterministic short-range connectivity and applications that demand reliable, low-latency wireless performance. The discussion highlights how UWB continues to expand beyond positioning and asset tracking, opening opportunities for new connectivity applications where latency, reliability, power efficiency, and predictable performance matter. Very good comparison of traditional wireless technologies (Wi-Fi and BLE) with Low Energy UWB (LE-UWB) by Claus Hetting of WiFi NOW in the included article. LE-UWB fits nicely between Wi-Fi and BLE for applications which need ultra-low latency, ultra-low power, low to medium throughput, and short range, but robust connectivity in noisy environment. The wireless requirements are becoming more stringent specially for emerging Edge AI, Physical AI, and IoT applications - traditional wireless technologies were just not built for these applications. This is where LE-UWB is stepping in to fill the void. #Wireless #IoT #UWB #PhysicalAI #EdgeAI SPARK Microsystems https://lnkd.in/g_NUdrGV
