As wildfires, floods and other disasters become more frequent and severe, effective emergency response has never been more important. On World Humanitarian Day, we recognise the people who provide life-saving assistance in times of crisis and the systems that help them respond when every minute counts. As Europe faces one of its most severe wildfire seasons, with France, Spain and other parts of southern Europe heavily affected and hundreds of thousands forced to evacuate, the importance of preparedness and rapid response is once again in sharp focus. The ECA has recently assessed one of the EU's key emergency response tools, the Union Civil Protection Mechanism's rescEU reserve, to examine whether it is helping Europe respond more effectively to crises. 👉 Read the report: https://lnkd.in/ej_a8cfQ Last year, the ECA has also published a report on the EU funding to tackle forest fires. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/e-_5keXx #WorldHumanitarianDay #ActForHumanity
