On to new adventures!

It's been a whirlwind experience with Stage 3 Talent. It was great to be back working for one of the best bosses in my career - Eric Wise. I was excited to see where his new company was headed, and I am thankful he gave me a chance to join him this time around. Once again, he's doing amazing things in the tech training space.

From learning React and building components for a project to writing curriculum and eventually back in the classroom teaching, it was good to experience many of the things I love in my career. Early on, I enjoyed having an open line of communication with marketing and sales - it was great to be able to be on the same page and also truly collaborate with each other well.

However, as companies grow and directions evolve, I've come to the point where they are heading in one direction, and my career wants to go a different direction.  Once again, I find myself in a spot where I worked for a company I love and believe in yet directionally it isn't right for me. So rest assured - I will still be rooting for Stage 3 Talent and their adventures ahead. I just won't be part of those adventures.

What's Next?

I'm going back to the consulting world, working for myself at Cleveland Tech Consulting. As I get more control over my time, I'm looking forward to more community projects. I helped with the CodeMash 2022 speaker selection, and I'm back with the Stir Trek planning team. I have some talks I'm working on to submit for conferences in late 2021 and early 2022. I've also got some collaborating opportunities that I'm exploring. I'm excited to be back in the community, making things happen and watching this tech community grow.

Talking with some friends, I'm looking forward to getting some learning in. I've got a bunch of courses that I want to go through, and I'm exploring many learning platforms while going through them. I'm especially looking forward to The Power of Storytelling with LeVar Burton!

I'll be open for small part-time projects between now and mid-December.

What are you looking for?

From tech support and system administration to database administration and data developer to web developer and DevOps adventures, I've had a vast career. I thrive in environments where I have a voice and can contribute to the direction and success of others. I enjoy coaching and guiding others, as well as writing - both code and documentation. Automation is the reason why I went into programming in the first place, so DevOps is a realm I enjoy working in as well. Content creation is also a thing for me, and I look forward to sharing more of that with the community in addition to work for clients.

What are you avoiding?

I plan on taking time around Thanksgiving and Christmas to spend with my family. I owe it to them to be there and be present. I don't want to be burned out or stressed out. I want to be able to truly enjoy the holidays.

How can we collaborate with you?

Message me here! I look forward to the collaborations ahead!

All the best for your new adventure!!!
