Supporting the Common Approach vision

The organizations below have signed on to support our vision for flexible, shareable impact measurement and urge others in the ecosystem to learn more about how the Common Approach Standards can improve impact measurement for everyone.

The Vision

We see a future where impact measurement is valuableand certainly not a burdento social purpose organizations (SPOs), but funders and investors can still get the information they need.

Common Approach has developed four standards that enable flexible, shareable impact measurement. When actively used, SPOs will be able to measure in a way that is useful for them, and our standards will coordinate their customized approaches into something common that funders and investors can use.

This has the potential to reduce the reporting burden for SPOs by streamlining reporting to their funders while improving the quality of the data funders are receiving. SPOs will be able to measure what matters to them, so they can also use the data to run an even more impactful organization in a way that best captures the work they are doing.

Once funders and investors are equipped to create portfolio-level analysis from the rainbow of impact data from the organizations they support, they will no longer need to prescribe metrics and indicators but will be able to use what the SPOs have determined to be the best measurements of their work.
