About The Back Room Tech

IT solutions and server room expertise since 2010

The Back Room Tech has been a trusted resource for IT professionals and system administrators since 2010. What started as a collection of practical server room tips has grown into a comprehensive library of articles covering enterprise networking, virtualization, Linux administration, and cloud computing.

We cover everything from Active Directory and VMware to Docker containers, network security, and cloud infrastructure. Every article is written to be clear, accurate, and actionable — so you can solve your IT challenges, optimize your infrastructure, and get back to keeping things running.

Who’s Behind The Back Room Tech

The Back Room Tech was founded by Aseem Kishore, a computer scientist and tech writer who started the site while working as a network administrator. What began as a way to document solutions to everyday server room problems quickly grew into a go-to resource for IT professionals.

Today, Aseem runs AK Internet Consulting, the parent company behind The Back Room Tech and four sister publications: Online Tech Tips, Help Desk Geek, Switching to Mac, and Xbox Advisor. Together, these sites reach over 7 million monthly pageviews.

With a B.S. in Computer Science from Emory University, a Cybersecurity degree, and over 15 years of experience building and operating tech websites, Aseem brings deep technical knowledge paired with a commitment to making technology accessible to everyone.

The AKIC Network

The AK Internet Consulting (AKIC) media network was created in 2007. Since then, we have published thousands of articles and enjoyed hundreds of millions of visitors. AKIC is independently owned and operated by its founder.
