This series pairs brief “allegorical tales” (寓言) from the enigmatic ancient Chinese classic Zhuangzi (莊子; ca. 4th through 3rd century BCE) with original watercolor paintings. Through this union of word and image, we hope to create a dialogue in which each illuminates the other, offering a fresh path into these ancient stories.
