This essay proposes a radical rethinking of the nature of truth through a comparative dialogue between Confucian ritual theory, Aristotelian praxis, and Thomist sacramental theology. Against the Platonic and modern epistemological traditions that locate truth in disembodied propositions or inner certainty, this work argues that truth is neither a correspondence between mind and world nor a mere subjective conviction, but an incarnate act: the unity of an interior intention and an exterior gesture, ritually conformed to an objective order. Drawing on (...) the Confucian concepts of chéng (sincerity), lǐ (ritual propriety), and zhèngmíng (rectification of names), as well as Aristotelian phronesis and recta ratio agibilium, we show how truth is performed rather than asserted. The analysis culminates in the Christian theological claim that truth is a Person (Veritas est Christus), who acts in the world through the liturgy and sacraments. Engaging the works of Joseph Ratzinger, Catherine Bell, Alexander Schmemann , Byung-Chul Han, and others, the essay develops a ritual ontology of truth that opens the way for a sacramentally grounded epistemology and a renewed anthropology of gesture. The result is a philosophy in which truth becomes communicable, credible, and transformative not through abstraction, but through form, fidelity, and action. (shrink)
