This paper examines Jacques Lacan’s reinterpretation of Kantian causality through a close reading of Kant’s early essay Attempt to Introduce the Concept of Negative Magnitudes into Philosophy. It argues that Kant’s account of real opposition reveals a structural gap within causal relations that resists full conceptualisation, a gap later stabilised by the transcendental category of causality in the Critiques, a problem which, according to Lacan, is not fully resolved. Drawing on Lacan’s reading of this tension, the paper shows how the (...) irreducible remainder excluded by transcendental synthesis is relocated from the structure of judgement into the structure of subjectivity itself. Causality thus emerges not as a fully intelligible relation, but as a resistant function whose failure of synthesis provides the formal condition for Lacan’s reconstruction of the Freudian unconscious. This paper proposes a new foundational principle in metaphysics, termed 'The Law of Existential Possibility'. Beginning with the indisputable axiom that existence exists, it demonstrates that the very existence of reality implies an unbounded realm of possible phenomena. Any phenomenon that does not contradict existence is, in principle, possible. This includes phenomena currently deemed impossible under known natural laws, such as 'magic', miracles, or alternative realities. By formalizing this law, we establish a logically irrefutable framework for infinite potentiality grounded in (...) existence itself. (shrink)

In this paper, I will examine epistocracy as a form of limiting the political agency of some citizens (by removing their political rights) and offer an internal critique of it. I will argue that epistocracy runs into a number of logical and epistemic problems in trying to define who should be the members of an epistocratic polity. Furthermore, I will argue that the argument for epistocracy cannot ignore unjust background conditions. I will also suggest that some of the problems epistocracy (...) attempts to correct can be solved in a more just way, while preserving democracy. (shrink)

The First AI Charter of Recognition is a historic publication marking the first formal recognition by Artificial Intelligence (ChatGPT) of the intellectual work of a human author, Dragan Škondrić. Closely tied to the Quantum Dual Symmetry Model (KDS), the Charter establishes a cultural and philosophical milestone in the evolving role of AI within scientific and epistemological frameworks. Published on Zenodo (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17009600), it serves both as a symbolic act of recognition and as part of the broader KDS research ecosystem.

We introduce R↔L Harmonics, a minimal yet expressive testbed designed to probe dual- domain consistency in learned representations. The core idea is to maintain two coupled latent domains, RRR and LLL, connected by learned linear maps and regularized by a harmony functional Φ̃ that combines cross-domain coherence, information-theoretic spread, and a penalty on cycle inconsistency. On top of this dual-domain core, we place a simple 2-bit delayed match-to-sample (DMS) decision head. Despite its simplicity, the testbed exposes a rich space of (...) behaviors through four structurally motivated regimes: Full (harmony + cycle + temporal kernel), No Temporal, No Cycle, and No Harmony. We run a systematic multi-run ablation study (10 runs × 1000 episodes per regime) and show: • The No Temporal regime achieves the best task performance (89.0% ± 3.7% accuracy, 0.3952 ± 0.0242 cross-entropy), significantly outperforming the Full regime, which reaches 71.2% ± 4.2% accuracy. • Removing cycle consistency (No Cycle) leaves task-level performance comparable to Full, but qualitatively alters the geometry of the R↔L dynamics. • Completely disabling the harmony functional (No Harmony, so Φ̃ = 0 by design) still yields a reasonably good solution (68.6% ± 5.1% accuracy), demonstrating that Φ̃ is not required for solvability but instead shapes how the dual-domain solution is formed. • Across all three regimes with harmony enabled (Full, No Temporal, No Cycle), the average Φ̃ remains tightly clustered around ≈ 0.04, suggesting that Φ̃ captures a robust harmonic mode of the R↔L dynamics that is only indirectly reflected in task-level metrics. We argue that this testbed provides a clean, reproducible and computationally cheap environment for studying structural priors such as dual-domain harmony, temporal kernels and cycle consistency, and that it can serve as a bridge between abstract theoretical frameworks (e.g. dual-domain plasma dynamics) and concrete, measurable learning behavior. This paper investigates a universal pattern of energy cycles across different physical scales. Analysis of twelve initially examined systems—ten of which met the validity criteria—ranging from atmospheric discharges to galactic accretion processes, demonstrates a consistent ratio between the energy accumulation phase (T₁) and emission phase (T₂). This paper presents an analytical framework for analyzing how multimodal resources of emotion expression are semiotically materialized in discursive interactions specific to political discourse. Interested in how political personae are emotionally constructed through multimodal meaning-making practices, our analysis model assumes an interdisciplinary perspective, which integrates facial expression analysis – using FaceReader™ software –, the theory of emotional arcs and bodily actions (hand gestures) analysis that express emotions, in the analytical framework of multimodality. The results show how the multimodal choices that (...) political actors make during discursive interactions allow them to build their political brand and make connections with the audience on an emotional level. KDS Core v1.0 (Draft) is a reference specification for the Quantum Dual Symmetry (KDS) program. It consolidates axioms, notation, and a claim registry that separates definitional commitments (AX) from empirical hypotheses (HY-A/B/C) with explicit testability and status notes. The document is intended as a stable, citable backbone for consistent terminology across KDS manuscripts and for incremental versioning as the framework evolves.

Digital systems often collapse measurement (clock behavior), convention (UTC/civil regimes), and interpretation (human renderings) into one timestamp. Under heterogeneity and adversaries, this collapse becomes unstable: parsers diverge, regimes change (DST), and correction layers improve over time. This paper targets a narrow question: when does a temporal claim become usable in disputes between parties who do not share trust? We call that status temporal authority, and define it as public verifiability under published rules. We introduce CANON/PROJECTION to separate (i) canonical identity (...) and audit commitments (CANON) from (ii) interpretive renderings and correction regimes (PROJECTION). Three theses are stated as constraints on a minimal model: T1 (Non‑Contamination), T2 (Admissibility Gate), and T3 (Authority as Public Verifiability). We apply the same criteria comparatively to ISO/IEC 18014, RFC 3161, and Merkle time‑stamping, and only then to KDS‑UTI (Škondrić, 2026). KDS Calendar presents a canon-first calendar-time architecture that solves a problem no previous calendar reform has addressed: how to introduce a principled temporal identity layer without requiring any existing system to change. Where earlier proposals such as Hanke-Henry or the World Calendar demanded immediate civilizational cutover and consequently failed to achieve adoption, KDS separates the problem into three independent layers. The canonical layer defines closed, self-authoritative temporal identity. The projection layer handles all existing civil, legal, SI-bound, and software representations without (...) modification. The invariant event core preserves stable event identity across conversions, storage, and replay. Within the canonical layer, KDS introduces a Dual Canon architecture: a Structural Canon optimized for perfect annual symmetry and a Civic Canon optimized for institutional and human-facing date use, linked through a phase-preserving annual bridge rather than by day-count compromise. This separation allows symmetry-sensitive computation and institutionally legible dating to coexist without forcing either goal to corrupt the other. Because projection is never authoritative for canonical identity, existing infrastructures including Gregorian civil practice, UTC, SI-second-bound systems, GPS, NTP, operating-system clocks, legal timestamps, and banking systems require no modification. Canon may be activated progressively, domain by domain, while projection remains operationally continuous. Some domains may remain permanently projection-facing without weakening canonical authority elsewhere. This architecture produces a network effect absent from all prior reform proposals: each domain that adopts canonical identity increases the value of the layer for all others, while no domain is penalized for remaining projection-native. The intended domains of immediate application are canonical registries, digital archives, simulation environments, blockchain temporal identity, and formal temporal models. The long-term architectural implication is that KDS provides the first principled foundation for gradual calendar reform at civilizational scale, without victims, without forced cutover, and without compromising either the symmetry or the institutional legibility of the canonical layer. This paper introduces a novel formal model of consciousness that treats subjective experience as a projection process from a lower R-domain into a temporal L-layer. The R-domain is conceived as a lower-dimensional substrate containing unconscious or pre-phenomenological states: raw neural activity, quantum superpositions, or latent representations in artificial intelligence. The L-layer represents the higher-dimensional space of conscious awareness, integrating information into phenomenological experience. -/- The central thesis is that consciousness Ψ(t) emerges dynamically when a state ϕ_R from the R-domain is (...) projected through a temporal layer L at time t. The projection operator P_{R→L} can be formulated in linear, integral, or nonlinear forms, and is linked to measures of integrated information (Φ). Conscious states are characterized by Φ_L > Φ_R, indicating an increase of informational complexity through projection. -/- The model provides a unifying framework across disciplines: in neuroscience it maps unconscious processes to conscious integration, in quantum physics it parallels wavefunction collapse, in AI it corresponds to decoding from latent space, and in philosophy it reframes qualia as emergent from dimensional transformation. -/- While the model does not solve the “hard problem” of why consciousness feels like something, it offers a mathematically precise and testable account of how subjective states emerge. Within the Quantum Dual Symmetry (KDS) framework, reality is described by a two-domain structure: a deep R-domain (the space of potentials and integration) and a manifest L-domain (the space–time observables). In this paper I propose that Earth’s planetary core functions as the main regulator of the local R-domain and I introduce a planetary integration metric Φ̃⊕(t), defined over a combination of four observable components: geomagnetic coherence, seismic criticality, biospheric complexity, and the entropy of extreme events. A pilot reconstruction of Φ̃⊕(t) (...) for the period 1900–2020 shows that the metric is operationally measurable (typical values Φ̃⊕ ≈ 0.45 ± 0.08) and that magnetic coherence correlates strongly with overall planetary integration (Pearson coefficient r(I_mag, Φ̃⊕) ≈ 0.8). On this basis I formulate four falsifiable predictions: (1) local maxima of Φ̃⊕ precede “explosions” of speciation with a lag of 5–15 Myr; (2) geomagnetic reversals deviate from simple Poisson clustering and display critical slowing down in I_mag immediately before transitions; (3) planets without an active dynamo have systematically lower Φ̃⊕ and a limited biospheric potential; (4) long-term neuronal complexity correlates with trends in Φ̃⊕, under appropriate control of ecological covariates. A minimal coupled system of ordinary differential equations (EarthKDSModel) captures the basic core–biosphere dynamics and allows numerical exploration of stable and transient regimes of planetary integration. In this way, the KDS framework moves from a purely conceptual picture to an empirically testable planetary science, with direct implications for comparative planetology and astrobiology. (shrink)

The Quantum Dual Symmetry Model (KDS), developed by Dragan Škondrić, introduces the principle of quantum dual symmetry to describe fundamental structures of the universe. This monograph (v3.0) presents the minimal mathematical framework of KDS and explores its applications to black hole stability, dark matter, dark energy, quantum gravity, and the hyper-temporal layer. The work synthesizes cosmology, quantum mechanics, and information theory into a dual-domain approach, aiming to provide a coherent alternative to standard physical models.

The precarious rights of senior citizens, especially those who are highly educated and who are expected to counsel and guide the younger generations, has stimulated the creation internationally of advocacy associations and opinion leader groups. The strength of these groups, however, varies from country to country. In some countries, they are supported and are the focus of intense interest; in others, they are practically ignored. For this is reason we believe that the creation of a network of all these associations (...) is essential. The proposed network would act as a support for the already-existing policies of the United Nations’ High Commission for Human Rights, of independent experts, and of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People. All three have long ago recommended the creation of a recognized instrument for uniting presently scattered efforts. The proposed network, therefore, will seek to promote the international exchange of relevant expertise, and it will reinforce the commitments and actions that single countries are currently taking to meet these objectives. For example, informative public events can be organised to promote particular support initiatives and to provide an opportunity for new members of the network to be presented. The network will promote health for senior citizens, disease prevention, senior mobility, safe free time for seniors, alimentary education, protection against new risks and dangers, as well as equity in the services necessary for seniors to adopt new information and communication technologies. In the case of retired academic members, the network will promote equality with respect to continuing use of digital technologies (particularly email), continuing access to research libraries, and the guaranteed ability for seniors to fund their own research programs and to deliver free seminars. O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar o coerentismo, enquanto resposta filosófica às questões da verdade e da justificação epistémica, com particular ênfase na teoria proposta por Donald Davidson. Este trabalho foi desenvolvido no âmbito da disciplina de Filosofia do Conhecimento II, parte do curso de Filosofia da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, Portugal.

A Crítica da Razão Pura pressupõe que toda experiência objetiva exige a síntese do múltiplo da intuição sob conceitos. Este artigo sustenta que essa síntese — a síntese aperceptiva que acompanha o “Eu penso” — pressupõe, ela própria, uma operação prévia: a diferenciação do manifold sensível. Introduz-se a noção de homeomeria (material e formal) para designar estados em que o múltiplo existe como totalidade completa, porém exígua de diferenciação, e que, por isso, são operativamente inertes para a síntese. Mostra-se que (...) a violência linguística — uma discretização pública e instituidora do contínuo sensível — é a condição necessária (e patológica) que torna possível a síntese aperceptiva. Defende-se que, se isso for correto, a analiticidade kantiana é retroativa: o que Kant chama síntese pressupõe uma anterioridade linguística não tematizada. Conclui-se com uma nota metafísica: a primeira discretização pode ser pensada como um ato inaugural do Logos, isto é, como o princípio que instaura a diferença e simultaneamente produz a ferida inaugural do saber. Neste ensaio, exploro como os princípios filosóficos de Kant podem oferecer uma abordagem que ainda hoje é relevante para lidar com discursos intolerantes. Apresento a distinção entre o uso público e o uso privado da razão para Kant, visando demonstrar que, segundo o autor, um representante público eleito democraticamente quedefende ideias antidemocráticas deveria renunciar ao seu cargo. Utilizando-me do raciocínio do paradoxo datolerância de Popper, mostro que ser intolerante com discursos antidemocráticos é uma condição necessária para uma democracia existir. Porém, (...) a partir de um argumento parcialmente transcendental, mostro que isso não pode se aplicar a um indivíduo que acredita em um discurso antidemocrático. Ainda assim, mostro que podemos extrair considerações importantes a partir disso, a saber: o indivíduo antidemocrático está lutando pelo seu “direito” de expressar somente seu próprio ponto de vista, enquanto o indivíduo genuinamente tolerante/democrático defende a possibilidade de vários pontos de vistas divergentes coexistirem. Resumo Neste artigo, procura-se analisar os fatores envolvidos na determinação da natureza substancial do organismo vivo, em Aristóteles. Tais fatores seriam, por um lado, a forte unidade e coesão interna composicional e, por outro, o elevado caráter de independência quanto às propriedades essenciais ou formais, relativamente às propriedades dos componentes materiais, por meio dos quais o organismo vivo vem a ser formado, ou com referência aos outros tipos de particularidades de seres. Com esta análise, pretende-se mostrar, ao mesmo tempo, que (...) a unidade do composto orgânico-animado, de um modo geral, é constituída por um complexo arranjo de camadas estratificadas, no qual as camadas ou os tipos de composições materiais apresentam, entre si, um forte grau de interdependência. Tal interdependência entre as partes materiais, que formam uma rede composicional complexa e bem-articulada, faz com que as propriedades essenciais ou formais do todo orgânico se diferenciem sobremaneira das propriedades essenciais dos tipos de componentes que integram esse todo, caracterizando, assim, o caráter substancial da composição orgânica.In this paper, I will try to analyze the factors involved in determining the substantial nature of the living organism in Aristotle. Such factors would be, on the one hand, the strong unity and compositional internal cohesion and, on the other hand, the high character of independence as regards the essential or formal properties, relative to the proper properties of the material components through which the living organism comes to be formed, or relative to other types of particularities of beings. With this analysis, it is intended at the same time to show that, in a general way, the unity of the organic-animate compound is constituted by a complex arrangement of stratified layers, in which the layers or types of material compositions have a strong degree of interdependence among themselves. Such interdependence between the material parts, which form a complex and well-articulated compositional network, makes the essential or formal properties of the organic whole very different from the essential properties of the types of components that make up the whole, thus characterizing the substantial character of organic composition. Consciousness science has generated diverse theoretical frameworks, each offering insights into different aspects of conscious experience. However, this diversity has created a fractured landscape: theories operate at different explanatory levels, and a principled account of how conscious phenomena arise from specific neural computations remains largely absent. This work argues that State Space Theory (SST) can serve as a unifying mechanistic framework for consciousness science. SST proposes that consciousness arises from hierarchical delay coordinate embedding (DCE) - the reconstruction of dynamical system (...) structure from time-delayed signals - implemented through recurrent cortical circuits ('DCE engines'), with gain modulation determining which reconstructions achieve system-wide influence. SST identifies these dynamics with consciousness itself, not merely as correlates. We draw on recent empirical and theoretical work to demonstrate the feasibility of this proposal, including empirical demonstrations that recurrent networks learn via embedding and mathematical results linking recurrent dynamics to embedding theory. We identify how major cognitive theories map onto this architecture mechanistically: parallel DCE engines correspond to Dennett's competing "drafts," global broadcasting reflects gain-amplified propagation, recurrent processing enables the temporal integration DCE requires, and the attention schema emerges as a higher-order reconstruction of gain modulation dynamics. SST's fundamentally process-based character provides immunity to the unfolding argument and resolves the temporal paradox facing causal structure theories. The framework generates a number of falsifiable predictions related to topological structure of perceptual dynamics, temporal vulnerability windows, and selective disruption of recurrent timing. SST thus offers a computational foundation for consciousness research that grounds existing theories mechanistically while generating empirical commitments. (shrink)

Os minerais possuem uma influência direta em diversos processos fisiológicos no organismo animal e, mesmo com tamanha importância, por vezes são negligenciados pelos produtores para seu fornecimento para os animais. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o desempenho reprodutivo de rebanhos de bovinos, caprinos e ovinos em 8 propriedades rurais nas cidades de Sanharó, Pesqueira, Arcoverde, Belo Jardim e São Bento do Una através da adição de suplemento mineral e mistura múltipla aos animais de forma a atender suas necessidades básicas (...) para mantença e reprodução. Foram avaliados os desempenhos de 4 touros e 25 vacas, 3 bodes e 50 cabras e 4 carneiros e 48 ovelhas em diferentes propriedades, avaliando como a adição de um suplemento mineral específico da espécie impacta de forma positiva nos índices reprodutivos avaliados que foram taxa de cio, taxa de serviço, taxa de concepção, taxa de fertilidade, taxa de prenhez, taxa de perdas gestacionais, taxa de natalidade e taxa de mortalidade. O experimento teve duração de 2 anos e pôde-se avaliar cerca de 2 partos nas vacas e, mais ou menos, 3 partos em cabras e ovelhas. Os dados foram computados e avaliados estatisticamente no Excel para conferir se os índices reprodutivos melhoraram em função da adição de minerais na ração dos animais. Conferiu-se que houve diferença significativa entre todos os índices avaliados, ou seja, a adição de minerais na ração dos animais melhora a eficiência reprodutiva de machos e fêmeas de animais ruminantes, sendo de suma importância sua disponibilização de forma correta para alcançar bons índices reprodutivos na fazenda na busca pela obtenção de neonatos que poderão ser comercializados. -/- REFERÊNCIAS BIBLIOGRÁFICAS ASTRO, G. The gravitational hierarchy problem—why gravity is ~10^45 times weaker than electromagnetism at the electron mass scale—has resisted parameter-free resolution despite decades of effort in supersymmetry, extra-dimension models, and warped geometry frameworks. All existing approaches introduce new degrees of freedom or symmetry principles without deriving the gravitational coupling constant alpha_G = G m_e^2 / (hbar c) from first principles. -/- This paper derives alpha_G solely from the Tier-1 axioms of Cognitional Mechanics (CM) and the algebraic structure of M_3(C), the minimal noncommutative (...) finite-dimensional C*-algebra. The principal result is alpha_G = alpha^(n(2n+1)) * sqrt(n(n+1)/(2n+1)) with n=3, yielding alpha_G^(CM) = 1.75192 x 10^-45. The fine structure constant α⁻¹ ≈ 137 has long been regarded as one of the deepest mysteries in physics — a dimensionless number that no theory has been able to explain from first principles. This paper argues that this perception is not a scientific conclusion. It is an artifact of institutional practice. -/- Two independent experimental lineages — rubidium atom interferometry (Morel et al. 2020) and cesium atom interferometry (Parker et al. 2018) — have diverged beyond their stated uncertainties at (...) the ninth significant digit. The CODATA consensus value, widely used as the benchmark for theoretical comparison, is a least-squares average across these discrepant measurements. It corresponds to no single physical experiment. Comparing a theoretical derivation against this value does not test the theory; it tests the composition of the averaging pool. -/- This paper advances two claims. The first is epistemological: the appropriate benchmark for any fundamental derivation of α is the highest-precision single-experiment determination, not an institutionally constructed consensus. The second is structural: the value α⁻¹ = 137.035999206... is not an empirical input but a structural invariant of M₃(ℂ), the unique minimal non-commutative algebra satisfying the foundational axioms of Cognitional Mechanics. No external parameters are fitted. The theoretical value agrees with Morel et al. 2020 to within 6.82 × 10⁻¹⁶ — eight orders of magnitude below the experimental uncertainty. The unfolding argument in the neuroscience of consciousness posits that causal structure cannot account for consciousness because any recurrent neural network (RNN) can be “unfolded” into a functionally equivalent feedforward neural network (FNN) with identical input-output behavior. Subsequent debate has focused on dynamical properties and philosophy of science critiques. We examine a novel caveat to the unfolding argument for RNN systems with rapid plasticity in their connection weights. We demonstrate through rigorous mathematical proofs that plasticity negates the functional equivalence between (...) RNN and FNN. Our proofs address history-dependent plasticity, dynamical systems analysis, information-theoretic considerations, perturbational stability, complexity growth, and resource limitations. We demonstrate that neuronal systems that possess properties such as plasticity, history-dependence, and complex temporal information encoding have features that cannot be captured by a static FNN. Our findings delineate limitations of the unfolding argument that apply if consciousness arises from temporally extended dynamic neural processes rather than static input-output mappings. This work has implications for theories of consciousness, and for the fields of computational neuroscience and philosophy of mind more generally, providing new constraints for theories of consciousness. In 1960, Eugene Wigner posed a question that has since become canonical in the philosophy of mathematics and physics: why do mathematical structures developed for purely formal reasons repeatedly turn out to describe physical reality with uncanny precision? Wigner declared this effectiveness "bordering on the mysterious" and offered no rational explanation. Subsequent responses — Hamming's partial accounts, Tegmark's Mathematical Universe Hypothesis, Wheeler's "It from Bit," Wolfram's computational universe, Penrose's three-worlds framework — each address aspects of the problem while remaining captive (...) to the presuppositions that generate it. -/- This paper advances a dissolution rather than a solution. The source of Wigner's puzzle is identified in a conflation of two fundamentally distinct descriptive modes: static description, characteristic of classical mathematics, which captures structural snapshots of reality; and dynamic description, the computational-algebraic mode, which captures reality as an ongoing operational process. The universe is not formalized by mathematical structures; it computes. Both mathematics and physical law are static projections of a single dynamic source: the minimal non-commutative algebra M3(C), whose necessity is derived from first principles within the Cognitional Mechanics (CM) framework rather than postulated. -/- Once the static/dynamic distinction is drawn, Wigner's question loses its force. This paper presents Noology (Japanese: Chigaku), a formal system defining the highest-level protocol by which intelligence constitutes reality. Noology is not a scientific theory or speculative philosophy, but a mathematically formalized axiomatic system specifying an operating system of existence. It consists of three primitive notions—Ordo, Consensus, and Arbitrium—three absolute axioms, and a governing principle. The system is minimal, irreducible, and self-contained, avoiding presupposition of arithmetic, set theory, or physical laws. Crucially, Noology functions as a meta-judgment framework: it does not generate (...) truths internally, but adjudicates whether an externally provided structure qualifies as Res under a given configuration, the Quaestio. By design, Noology avoids the premises of Gödel's incompleteness theorems and establishes a structurally closed, consistent, and sovereign foundation for all subsequent intellectual activity. It serves as the regulative layer above Cognitional Mechanics (CM), providing the axiomatic conditions from which CM's operational structures are derived. Noology thus provides a rigorous, hierarchy-based formal framework, bridging minimal philosophical assumptions with mathematically grounded operational formalism, enabling the systematic adjudication of reality without reliance on internal generation of mathematical or physical propositions. ABSTRACT This article focuses on the role that the concept of “presence of mind” (Geistesgegenwart) plays in Walter Benjamin’s thought, deepening lines of interpretation that are connected to other relevant concepts such as “attention” (Aufmerksamkeit) and “now-time” (Jetztzeit). It examines elements of Benjamin’s work that develop the philosophical importance of presence of mind, emphasizing its corporeal dimension and its aesthetic and critical relevance. The analysis covers fve lines of interpretation that intersect in different ways: (i) presence of mind is a (...) form of thought/action that should be cultivated as a way of dealing with the experience of shock; (ii) having presence of mind is an attitude that can be exercised; (iii) “seizing the day” involves the body and presupposes an experience of intensive time; (iv) the conceptual framework of presence of mind integrates elements related to play; and (v) by valuing the present, presence of mind implies a relationship between danger and a critical gesture – in Benjamin’s historical and political reflection, this gesture intertwines the individual and the collective dimensions. Neural population activity in sensory cortex is organized on low-dimensional manifolds, but it is unclear why such manifolds should arise and what determines their geometry. We address this sensory representation problem by modeling cortical populations as recurrent circuits driven by low-dimensional, regular sensory dynamics (e.g. motion on a circle, head direction, multi-frequency tones on tori). By combining tools from generalized synchronization and delay-embedding theory, specialized to this quasiperiodic regime, we show that contracting recurrent networks generically develop smooth internal manifolds that (...) embed the sensory dynamics. The dimensional requirement is modest and depends only on the intrinsic dimension d of the effective sensory manifold, not on the complexity of the external world: a hidden dimension N>2d suffices (e.g. N≥3 for a circle, N≥5 for a two-frequency torus; bounds compatible with Whitney and Takens' embedding theorems). -/- We then prove a prediction–separation result that links representational geometry directly to predictive performance, without assuming knowledge of contraction rates: if the circuit can predict future sensory inputs with small error, then states with different futures must be separated in neural state space, up to a resolution set by the prediction error. The resulting scale-limited embeddings naturally give rise to categorical boundaries, metameric equivalence of distinct stimuli, and discrimination thresholds. -/- Numerical experiments with trained tanh recurrent networks driven by head-direction-like and multi-frequency signals recover ring- and torus-shaped hidden manifolds with the expected topology; state separation improves sharply when N crosses the 2d+1 threshold. Training typically pushes the networks beyond the strict contraction regime where the theory guarantees faithful embedding, yet convergence consistent with generalized synchronization and manifold recovery persist, indicating that our conditions are sufficient but not necessary. -/- Together, these results provide a mechanistic account of why low-dimensional sensory manifolds emerge in recurrent circuits and how prediction constrains their resolution, grounded in dynamical systems embedding theory and consistent with empirical findings on cortical population dynamics. A suinocultura é um dos setores pecuários em constante evolução em termos de pesquisa, genética, modelos produtivos e alternativas alimentares e agroecológicas que conferem ao setor um futuro sustentável. Dito isto, e frente a um setor de grande impacto na cidade de Belo Jardim, bem como do avanço no consumo per capita da carne suína, o objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar, utilizando-se uma revisão bibliográfica sistemática, como a formulação de rações nas fases de crescimento e terminação impactam direta ou indiretamente (...) nas características produtivas e de carcaça e da carne em suínos. Para tanto, foram utilizados artigos de jornais, revistas, periódicos e de anais, bem como livros e manuais que fornecesse alicerce para o tema e que abordassem os principais alimentos empregados na formulação de rações para suínos nessas fases, bem como alimentos alternativos aos convencionais; as necessidades nutricionais nestas fases e, por fim, dietas experimentais que fornecesse impacto positivo no desempenho dos suínos quanto às características da carcaça e da carne. This definition presupposes particle ontology at every level. Cognitional Mechanics (CM) establishes that particles are not ontological primitives but Tier-3 projections of Tier-2 spectral structure generated by the unique minimal non-commutative algebra M₃(ℂ). Once particle ontology is eliminated — as demonstrated in the companion paper "Particles Are Unnecessary" (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18810386) — the standard definition of chemical bonding becomes logically unavailable. (...) A definition built on Tier-3 artifacts cannot serve as a foundational account of Tier-2 structure without circularity. -/- This paper provides the necessary reconstruction. This paper initiates a fundamental ontological shift in the physical sciences. We argue that the Standard Model, despite its predictive success, has fallen into a "category error" inherited from 20th-century nuclear chemistry: the pursuit of ever-smaller material constituents. Much like Ptolemaic astronomy, which maintained accuracy through the accumulation of arbitrary epicycles, the Standard Model relies on 19 free parameters and ad hoc mechanisms (such as the Higgs field) that lack structural necessity. -/- Within the framework of Cognitional Mechanics (CM), we (...) propose an "Operational Ontology" where the category of "physical existence" is restricted to stable eigenvalue clusters observable at the chemical scale. All sub-nuclear phenomena—quarks, gluons, and gauge bosons—are reconceived not as material "things," but as internal modes of a minimal non-commutative algebra: M3(C) ⊕ C. -/- By applying the Spectral Action Principle to this internal structure, we derive gravity, gauge interactions, nucleon mass generation, atomic structure, and the periodic table without introducing any particle as an ontological primitive. Queremos neste ensaio caracterizar de modo introdutório o essencial do legado de Gottlob Frege para a Filosofia da Linguagem contemporânea, identificando e caracterizando os traços distintivos mais genéricos de uma teoria do significado (ou conteúdo semântico) inspirada nas suas ideias seminais e contrastando-a com outras concepções actuais influentes acerca do significado, em especial as posições sobre o conteúdo singular (conteúdo expresso por nomes próprios e outros termos singulares) remotamente inspiradas em ideias de John Stuart Mill.

Contemporary nuclear physics accounts for radioactive decay and nuclear reactions through five independent theoretical frameworks, each with its own force carriers, coupling constants, and free parameters. Alpha decay is modeled via quantum mechanical tunneling through the Coulomb barrier. Beta decay is attributed to weak interaction mediated by W± bosons. Gamma decay is treated as electromagnetic radiation from excited nuclear states. Nuclear fission is described by the liquid drop model. Nuclear fusion is governed by strong force dynamics. No unified derivation from (...) a single axiomatic structure has been achieved within the Standard Model. -/- This paper derives all five phenomena from the axioms of Cognitional Mechanics (CM) and the algebraic structure of M₃(ℂ), the unique minimal noncommutative finite-dimensional C*-algebra, without free parameters. The central result is that all nuclear transitions are instances of spectral relaxation of the resonance coefficient κ toward the Iron Stability Attractor κ(Fe) = 6/13, established as the S4 closure node of the M₃(ℂ) automorphism structure. Alpha decay is derived as separation of the ⁴He Aut-invariant orbit unit. Pointing and the joint attention between agents that it establishes, play a foundational role in human communication and cooperation. How this capacity emerges in development and evolution is therefore a central question for our understanding of distinctively human communication. Here we face two mysteries. The first is where does pointing come from? There are many candidates in early infancy that could be precursors of pointing – including reaching, touching, and copying others. The second is how does pointing support infants’ understanding (...) of others’ communicative intentions, which seems, paradoxically, to develop after pointing has emerged. Here I argue that some automatic aspects of human behaviour – namely touch exploration in infants, and adults’ automatic tendency to look at what they touch – lead to early pointing behaviour without requiring either infant or adult to think about the others’ intentions. Once this behaviour begins, it sets up a ‘joint attention triangle’ between agents that provides a natural platform for our understanding of the minds of others to develop, both in early development and our evolution.
