Tropospheric Remotely Observed Profiling via Optimal Estimation

TROPoe stands for "Tropospheric Remotely Observed Profiling via Optimal Estimation". This algorithm retrieves temperature and humidity profiles, as well as a few integrated cloud properties, from ground-based infrared spectrometers (e.g., AERI and ASSIST) and multi-channel microwave radiometers (e.g., MP3000 and HATPRO). The core details of the algorithm are explained in Turner and Blumberg JSTARS 2019 and Turner and Löhnert JAMC 2014. The original code was developed in IDL, and was ported to python2 in late 2019. The algorithm uses the radiative transfer models LBLRTM (for the infrared) and MonoRTM (for the microwave); both of these RT models were developed by AER Inc.
