Custom Engine
HDR available in the windowed mode ✅
Defaults to the peak brightness provided by EDID/Windows color profile ✅
Gamma mismatch ❔
To fix this and other issues with this game's HDR implementation, use the RenoDX mod by Musa
HDR Settings:
HDR Brightness - average brightness of the game, seems to scale linearly
UI Brightness - self-explanatory
Review:
Very similar situation to the last game, gamma mismatch covered by the tons of contrast boost, no way to disable it in game this time around. Shadows can look clipped pretty badly at times. On consoles, I guess it's best to stick with the defaults, on PC use RenoDX
UI is once again stretched to PQ and regularly hits 10k nits, UI slider helps to tame it somehow this time around though, just put it at 0 unless you want to burn in your display.
Comparisons
‼️(In order to view them correctly on Windows, you must use a Chromium browser with Windows HDR enabled, and the brightness slider set to the value of 31)
