Sven Koenig Receives ACM SIGAI Autonomous Agents Research Award

Sven Koenig, Chancellor’s Professor and Bren Chair of computer science at the UC Irvine Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS), received the 2026 Autonomous Agents Research Award from the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence (SIGAI) at the 25th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2026). The ACM award recognizes researchers in autonomous agents whose current work has a significant influence on the field.

Pierre Baldi receives the 2023 INNS Dennis Gabor Award

The International Neural Network Society recognized Distinguished Prof. Pierre Baldi for remarkable contributions to the engineering of neural networks and applications of machine learning.

Outstanding Student Paper Award at AISTATS 2024

Gavin Kerrigan and Giosue Migliorini, with Prof. Padhraic Smyth, won an Outstanding Student Paper Award for work on functional flow matching.

Best Paper Award at NeurIPS 2023

Justus Will, Stephan Mandt, and Pierre Baldi were part of the team that won an Outstanding Dataset Paper award for ClimSim, the largest-ever dataset for hybrid physics-ML climate emulation.
