I already reinstalled it, cleared everything from cookies to tabs to addons to browser history but nothing worked.

Everytime it happens I have to restart Opera GX to use it properly for a few minutes till it occurs again. I hope someone of you has a solution to it

I'm afraid to reinstall the browser because I'm scared i lose all my workspaces and tabs. If i reinstall will my workspaces and tabs be saved? Is there a way to backup all my workspaces?

1. the background doesn't load;
2. the speed dail doesn't load.

It just happened one day without warning and here is what i have done to try and fix that:

1. deleted all mods and extensions;
2. cleared my browsing history;
3. tweaked some settings for storage;
4. deleted some history cehes in the files;
5. deleted and reinstalled opera;
6. asked ARIA.

What else can a failing 12th grader like me do? At this point i just want any anwer, it could be "womp womp, get a better system" , "nope can't help" , "this is a sign from God to git gud" or an actual solution to my problem.

I see the message basically says:

A profile error occurred
Your profile could not be opened correctly.
Some features may not be available. Please check that the profile exists and that you have permissions to read and write its content.

That usually means the profile at "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Developer" is being used by an Opera process or another process or its damaged or the permissions for that folder are not set to allow your user to read and write to the folder and its contents. I would rename that "Opera Developer" folder to "Opera Developer old" and then try to start Opera.

First though, I would make a test standalone installation of Opera Developer to a folder named "Opera Developer Test" on your desktop. If that Opera won't load either, there's probably really something wrong with Windows.

Does that Opera at least load right?

Is this fixable? Is it possible to retrieve my past history with Opera? Oh, and I should mention that when I try to retrieve past history, the screen displays only one word, "ERROR."

It would be nice to know what the error is since like most error messages on Windows, Macs and a host of other software, can't tell you what the error is.

so then after fiddling with it for... ever, i try chrome and the same error occurs. now i realize now that it is probably not just an opera issue but as i said, im basically a noob when it comes to a lot of computer stuff. all the other applications can be routed and are working. if i left any information out please let me know and ill get right back to you))

If you have any tips please let me know, If I remember properly this wasn't always like this, I used to have the classic color wave background.

Hello. Nice to meet you. It worked. Thank you. I was not sure if addon extensions from Google [Chrome] worked in Opera. I see they do! I see Checker Plus for Gmail and Gmail Checker Lite also work as well.

In the developer tools, you can switch to the network tab, check "disable cache", and hit ctrl + r to reload the twitter page to test if the network log shows any errors.

Also in the developer tools, you can hit the 3 dots at the top right, goto "more tools", choose "network conditions", turn of the use of the default user agent and then set Opera to identify as Chrome or Firefox. Then, ctrl + r to reload the page again to test if that helps.

You can also test with Opera's VPN on to test if that makes a difference.
