AI isn’t the first wave of disruption—and it won’t be the last. From the Industrial Revolution to today, the people who thrive are the ones who learn to work with the technology—not against it. SANS Faculty Fellow Mark Baggett puts it into perspective after his keynote at SANS 2026. #AI #SANS2026 #SANSLiveTraining

SANS 2026 — what a week. From the welcome reception to engaged classrooms, from deep technical insights to late-night conversations… this is what makes this community different. We learned. We connected. We grew. And somewhere along the way, we watched history unfold 🚀 Grateful for every conversation, every lesson, and every new connection. Until next time. #SANS2026 #SANSLiveTraining #Community #CyberTok #TechTok

If your team hasn't checked for axios v1.14.1 or v0.30.4 in your dependency tree yet, this is your nudge. Transitive installs count. The package is gone. The credentials it harvested are still live. Any CI/CD build that ran during that three-hour window on March 31 should be treated as compromised, and all credentials in scope rotated. SANS President Ed Skoudis: "This attack likely has long-term legs through the credentials gathered today, and we will face the fallout of that for months and beyond." Joshua Wright and Rich Greene broke this down live from SANS 2026 Orlando while it was still unfolding. 🔗 Read about it: https://go.sans.org/uSXXwt 🔗 Watch the replay: https://lnkd.in/eu6AW5uW? #SANSInstitute #SupplyChainSecurity #Cybersecurity #NPM #IncidentResponse #DevSecOps

This week 30 US Service Academy Cadets and Midshipmen (#USMA, #USNA, #USAFA, #USCGA) attended SANS 2026 to attend classes and compete in the 8th Annual NetWars Academy Cup. Congratulations to all 30 for their fierce competitiveness and commitment to cyber security. Congratulations to USAFA, led by Jaden Liu, for winning the Cup back from the USCGA. Really enjoyed Tristan Ostrander playing classical music on the piano for the benefit of his academy piers, instructors, and SANS personnel. A special thanks to Sam Teplov, Jason McGinthy, Kaitlyn DeValk-Hammond, Leo Kosta, Jose Fernandez & Daniel B. for coordinating and coaching the Midshipmen & Cadets.

SANS instructors aren't academics. They're practitioners who happen to teach, evaluated by students who can tell when someone has actually done the work. Please join us in celebrating the ten faculty that had that record recognized with a promotion! Jason Ostrom → Senior Instructor David Mashburn → Principal Instructor Serge Borso → Principal Instructor Mark Bristow → Principal Instructor Jason Dely → Principal Instructor Jim Clausing → Principal Instructor Xavier Mertens 🇧🇪 Mertens → Principal Instructor Chris Elgee → Principal Instructor Brian Almond → Certified Instructor Douglas McKee → Certified Instructor Senior Instructor at SANS is where teaching excellence meets course authorship, and what most faculty are working toward. Jason Ostrom just earned it! For the seven who reached Principal Instructor, it means their record has been pressure-tested long enough that SANS puts its name behind them in the room. Certified Instructor is the first rank you earn after clearing the development program, and not everyone does. Between them, they cover the domains where the workforce is most stretched right now: ICS/OT, cloud, malware analysis, DFIR, offensive operations, AI. If you've trained in any of these areas, there's a real chance one of these ten was in the room with you. That room just got a little more credentialed. Congratulations to all ten! #ITeachForSANS #SANSInstitute #Cybersecurity

We don't just hire experts. We help develop them. This week, a party wagon full of the AXE.AI team, including our CEO Brett E., is at SANS Institute 2026 in Orlando. Incident Handling, Red Team Operations. Python coding for ethical hacking. The kind of training that keeps security professionals sharp, relevant and operating at the edge of the field. This year, that includes exploring how generative AI is being applied to cybersecurity, an area we're actively building in. And we're proud to share that our team member, Emma Hery earned a SANS challenge coin this week. For those who don't know, these are rare. They're awarded to professionals who demonstrate exceptional skill in some of the most intense competitions in cybersecurity training. Emma earned hers. That's a big deal. SANS isn't a checkbox. It's one of the most rigorous and respected training environments in cybersecurity. The kind of place where the best in the industry go to get better. It's a standard we hold ourselves to across the team. Staying current isn't optional in this industry. The threat landscape moves fast. The tools evolve. The techniques change. The only way to stay ahead of it is to never stop learning, and to build a team that takes that seriously. Come meet up with us at SANS this week. Emma Hery Brett E. I have been working with the SANS Institute for the last 10 years, empowering students to defend critical infrastructure in the SANS ICS 515 ICS Visibility, Detection and Response class. It was an honor to be promoted yesterday to the rank of Principal Instructor. Teaching is a passion of mine. When I started in this field, there were very few (but very close knit) colleagues responding to intrusions into our critical infrastructure. Robert M. Lee saw this gap in our critical defenses and took to writing a class to help grow this cadre of defenders. With support of monumental leaders like Mike Assante (still miss you man), Tim Conway, Ted Gutierrez, Justin Searle the SANS ICS team built the tools we needed to grow from from the small but mighty group we were, into the defenders that the modern world needs. In no other cyber domain can you physically see the impact of your capabilities in action. Geopolitics has advanced to a place where cyber-attacks against our critical infrastructure are no longer a interesting research project, but now part of the war plan. One need only look to our friends in Ukraine, defending infrastructure from "hybrid warfare" for 10 years now, and the current conflict in Iran as examples of where cyber-conflict has come and may go next. I'm proud to have played a small part in helping ready our defenders for what comes next. Thank you to Matt Fix and the rest of the SANS team for recognizing my part in our shared mission to defend what makes our modern world possible. I'm excited to continue to share my hard-earned experience, insights and "pro-tips" to enable you to better defend our way of life. Come join me in my next public class opening at https://lnkd.in/eXVuxXft and learn how to "frustrate the adversary today."
