Cannot log in to Apple TV app for Windows

Hi.

On the Apple TV App for Windows, I cannot log in to my Apple account. I enter the correct login information for email and password, click login, and I am taken back to the App's main page, but I'm never logged in.

App Version: Apple TV 1.6.4.92 (1.1540.23558.0) (Latest as of July 2026)

I am running an up-to-date version of Windows 11 Pro.

I have tried to reset the app, Reinstall the app, redownload the app from Windows Store, tried appending a 2FA code to the password (that simply generate an incorrect password error). I also tried waiting for a few weeks and then logging in again in case the device or app is blocked somehow. Perhaps I should just unsubscribe.

Windows, Windows 11 (26200)

I had exactly the same issue (nearly drove me up the wall) - eventually Google's AI told me to install Apple Music (from the Microsoft store) on one of my PCs and sign in there - it fixed it. It's an agreement status issue and Apple needs to fix it stat (I had managed to buy a movie quite successfully on my iphone but couldn't log on to watch it on a PC, which I'm fairly sure is illegal on their part.)

Details from Gemini (Google):

1. The "Apple Music Account" Terms & Conditions Trigger

A notorious Apple account quirk on Windows prevents modern Windows apps from authenticating if the account hasn't fully registered a modern music library agreement.

  1. Install Apple Music for Windows (from the Microsoft Store) on one of the PCs.
  2. Attempt to sign into your Apple ID inside the Apple Music app first.
  3. If it prompts you to accept new Terms & Conditions, click Agree.
  4. Once Apple Music signs in successfully, close it and open Apple TV or iCloud. In most cases, they will now suddenly authorize, as the account flag has been cleared on Apple's servers. [1, 2, 3]

OK. Thank you.

We are all device-users, just as you are, in this community, so no-one here can fix bugs in Apple's software or system.

Other Windows users have faced similar situations:

Eg: Perhaps the reply given by a respected community member in this other discussion can help you: Unable to sign in to apple tv+ on my wind… - Apple Community

or

If you wish, you can send feedback to let Apple know that you suspect a bug.

You will likely not receive a reply, yet your feedback will be carefully read and logged, and if others are reporting a similar issue, Apple may release an update to address that issue: Feedback - Apple TV App - Apple

Re: Cannot log in to Apple TV app for Windows

See whether Apple support's step-by-step sign-in method below can help, or whether that is precisely what hasn't been working for you.

Apple support's article: Sign in to your Apple Account in the Apple TV app on Windows - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Sign in to your Apple Account in the Apple TV app

  1. Go to the Apple TV app on your Windows device.
  2. Select Sign In at the bottom of the sidebar.
  3. Select Sign In (under View My Account), enter the email or phone number and password for your Apple Account, then select Sign In.
  4. If you forgot your password, select “Forgot password?” and follow the onscreen instructions."

The same thing is happening here. I can log in with Chrome but with the app from Apple TV is impossible. The first time that ive tried they even asked for the code sent to my phone to confirm the log in but nothing happened. Ive uninstalled and installed again and still cant log in the app.

And with Chrome i cant get a good quality with the stream, seems that it stops at 720p or bellow.

I have the same problem. Can no longer login through Microsoft Edge, Brave Browser, Apple TV App, or Apple Music on a Windows 11 25H2 PC.

With Microsoft Edge I get the "Two-Factor Authentication" Use a security key to sign to your Apple Account: email@domain.com. With my Yubikey plugged in usually I get a prompt for passcode then to press the button but nothing now. When I click continue it just keeps prompting the continue button.

With the Apple TV and Apple Music apps I get a different box that pops up once I login with username and password. A blank white box labeled "Apple TV" or "Apple Music" pops up and that is it, nothing more. Eventually they time out.
