When floods disrupt lives, timely support can make the road to recovery a little easier. Torrential rains battered Kerala in August 2026, claiming several lives and leaving many families without basic essentials. In the aftermath, Infosys Foundation stepped in to support flood-affected families in Pathanamthitta with relief kits containing food essentials, clothing, and daily necessities to help them get back on their feet. Around 21 volunteers, from Samarpan- Infosys Bangalore DC CSR group and NSS, worked together on 15 and 16 August to ensure these kits reached families who needed them most. The effort was carried out through Sri Ramakrishna Sevashram, Pavagada, led by Sri Japananandaji Maharaj, with the District Collector's office lending valuable support in coordinating relief on ground. For families navigating the aftermath of a flood, even small steps forward matter. #InfosysFoundation #DisasterRelief

From a young age, Risana's parents instilled in her the belief that education can transform lives. Growing up in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Risana watched her father, a painter and daily wage worker, work hard to provide for their family of six. Though her parents had no academic background, they believed education could change their lives. Their sacrifices became Risana’s driving force. She went on to secure A+ grades in Class 10, 95% in Class 12 and a NEET score of 600, earning a government seat to pursue Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Government Dental College, Trivandrum. As she entered the third year of her dental degree, the costs of specialized instruments, books and clinical requirements began placing an added strain on her family. Determined not to add to her parents’ burden or take an education loan, Risana found support through the Infosys Foundation STEM Stars Scholarship Program, implemented in partnership with Buddy4Study. The scholarship helped ease the cost of her academic and clinical requirements, allowing her to continue her training with greater confidence and focus. Today, Risana aspires to pursue post-graduation and eventually establish her own dental clinic to serve her community. Through STEM Stars, Infosys Foundation continues to support young women from underserved communities in pursuing higher education and building pathways towards their aspirations. #InfosysFoundation #STEMStars #Education #Scholarship
