Winux on bootable USB stick. See's the HD but when it goes to install I get "The installer failed to create partition on disk 'md126'. I have tried sever different sized drives, I have put drives in with no partitions on them at all, or a large windows partition. Doesn't matter what combo I use or do, this will not install because of this error. I am sure it's a Unix thing so I am asking for a bone here.

I was looking on the internet and i found the solution. Yo have to download the powertools from the sourceforge.net. When you do regularly updates, there is never a powertools upate. You have to do that as said by downloading the deb file from sourceforge.net and install it. Now my version is updated. Problem solved.

I have the same problem. I have a paid version and I still see version 11.24.04. On a test computer i have a free version. And there I see version 11.26.03.1. I regularly update, and still no change in version on powertools.

I installed the HP M1536dnf printer and it prints ok after installation. However, Winux won't communicate with the scanner. I also tried installing the HP full printer app using WINE. However, the app will fail when it gets to the step where it is trying to communicate with the scanner. Has anyone had any luck with the scanner on this printer, or, with the scanner on any HP Multifunction printer scanner?

I'm just now looking into switching from windows to winux, and the contents of this and (very few) other threads here with simple questions going unanswered and seeing an experienced linux user unable to figure out how updates go, is helping change my decision. No. We're simply explaining that an 11.26.01 image is just an older image with apt-get dist-upgrade applied. If you update your packages via discover, you'll get the same result as with a newer image.
