Filter Gemini for Home voice assistant responses

Set filters to limit Gemini for Home’s responses about sensitive topics for guests or everyone in your home. Voice Matched children under 18 always receive filtered responses, regardless of your selection.

Important:

  • Your devices and apps must be up to date and each child must be a member of the home for Digital Wellbeing and Parental controls to work correctly.
  • This feature is only available in some countries and languages.

Select your filter type

  • Allow all responses: Only Voice Matched children under 18 receive filtered responses. Anyone else in your home and guests of any age will receive unfiltered responses.
  • Filter responses for guests: Applies to guests and anyone else in your home without Voice Match. People in the home over 18, with Voice Match enabled, will receive unfiltered responses.
  • Filter responses for everyone: Everyone receives filtered responses. This includes anyone in the home and guests of all ages. This option offers maximum filtering.

Set up or edit Gemini for Home voice assistant filter

Manage who receives filtered responses in your home. You can set up a filter when you first set up Gemini for Home or set it up at a later time in your Home settings.

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
  3. Tap Home settings and then Gemini for Home voice assistant and then Gemini for Home response filtering.
  4. Choose the filter option you want:
    • Allow all responses
    • Filter responses for guests
    • Filter responses for everyone
