You can use Gemini for TV to help you find TV shows or movies, get recommendations based on your taste, or ask questions about any topic. Gemini for TV uses Google’s most advanced AI so you can talk naturally and get thoughtful responses to questions on a wide range of topics on your TV.
- Find what to watch: “What are some movies like Mission Impossible but funnier?”
- Have conversations on any topic: “Can you explain the solar system to my third grader?”

Tips:
- Gemini for TV is optimized for Google TV devices and isn’t the same as Gemini Apps on your phone, tablet, or desktop. Gemini for TV has its own set of settings found on the TV device or in the Google Home app.

Availability
Important: When you acknowledge Gemini for TV setup for your profile, eligible TVs in that Home automatically get Gemini for TV. If you have multiple Homes or create a new one, you need to acknowledge Gemini for TV setup for each Home.
Gemini for TV is available only on Google TV devices in select countries/regions and languages. Gemini for TV AI responses are available only for profiles associated with users 18 years old and above. Gemini for TV isn't available in Google TV kid’s profiles.
Eligibility: You can use Gemini for TV only:
- On select devices:
- TCL QM9K, QM7K, QM8K, and X11K models
- Google TV Streamer
- Walmart onn. 4K Pro model
- Hisense U7, U8, UX models
- In the United States or Canada.
- In English (US and Canada) and French (Canada).
- On a Google TV device you add to Google Home. Learn how to add a TV to Google Home.
- On a Home member TV profile. The TV profile or the signed-in Google Account must be a Home member in the same Google Home as the Gemini-enabled device. Otherwise, the TV profile gets Google Assistant instead of Gemini. Learn how to add profiles as Home members.
In the future, Gemini for TV will be available on additional Google TV devices, regions, and languages.
Age requirements
Gemini for TV AI responses are only available for account profiles associated with users 18 years old and above. Gemini for TV isn’t available in kids' profiles. Non-kids profiles for users under 18 will continue to get Google Assistant responses.

Select a voice for Gemini for TVImportant: To access Gemini for TV hands-free, make sure the microphone is turned on. You can check this on the side or underside of your device.
You can control your TV without a remote control on devices that have hands-free capabilities. When your TV is on or on standby, Gemini for TV can listen to you when you say “Hey Google.”
To turn on hands-free access for Gemini for TV:

Tips:
- Gemini for TV may activate when it hears voices or noises that sound like “Hey Google” or “OK Google.”
- The hands-free microphone may be located on the TV, on the remote, or on your streamer device. You can also mute the microphone. Refer to your manufacturer's manual.
- If you have multiple devices that can respond to “Hey Google,” only one of the devices should respond based on your proximity to the device and the volume of your voice, type of request, and capabilities of the device.
When you use Gemini for TV, you can get personal results from Google Photos, Google Calendar, and more on your Gemini-enabled TV. Anyone who uses this device can get personal results for the signed-in account, unless you’ve also set up Voice Match on your Google account.
Tips:
- In the Google Home app, you can manage Voice Match settings. If Voice Match is on, a similar voice or recording might be able to access your personal results. Learn how to turn on voice recognition with Voice Match.

To use Gemini for TV, your TV must be added to Google Home. On initial setup, you can add your TV to a home. You can change the home at any time on your TV or in the Google Home app.
On your TV:

- To add or move the device, tap Home or Placement.
To access Gemini for TV, add the TV profile to the same Google Home as the Gemini-enabled device. You can add Google Accounts as Home members in the Google Home mobile app. Learn how to add profiles as Home members.
Gemini for TV doesn't have a specific on or off switch. If your device and Google Account are eligible, you automatically get Gemini for TV. To turn it off, remove the device from Google Home. When you do, you get Google Assistant instead.
Manage your data
If you turn on Web & App Activity, your interactions with Gemini for TV are saved under “Google Assistant” in your Google Account. You can delete your Google Assistant activity at any time.
Terms of Service
The Google Terms of Service and the Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy apply to Gemini for TV.
