United StatesNice location in the pine forest. Bike road to the lake and around lake. Easy bike availability. Hot hamam and great pool (sometimes with waves-really good!) Reasonably good breakfast. Two water bottles in addition to the kettle. Food in Retrobar next to the hotel. Lake Schuch'e is cooler than Borovoe and cleaner. Reasonable wifi. Overall, nice place to stay.

We visited in winter time.
We visited in winter time. You can still do many things like taking a ride in a dog sleigh, or a reindeer one, or a snowmobile on a frozen lake. Yes, all lakes are frozen and you can do skating on them, or ice fishing if you have the equipment. Or you can walk in the snow. There are restaurants working but the place is not so vibrant in winter as it is in the summer. That is understandable because temperatures can plunge to -30 in January and February. It is picturesque and quiet but cold. Yu should also visit the deer farms in the vicinity, they will let you feed the deer and enjoy tea and honey. In winter times, if you are going by car, do check the weather forecast because the road from Astana to Burabay gets closed every now and then during blizzards and extreme ice.
