Every time I go on a holiday breakfast is a must have and it has to be good and that is what I got from the "Hilltop guesthouse". The place is clean beds comfortable and the main host Leandra was a "bombshell " very very nice to have around very friendly and her staff wonderful. We were welcomed by hippos upon arrival and later got the see the crocodile and have a game drive , boat cruise, shopping for the wife now that is an accessory hardly ever mentioned. The go to restaurant for a nice meal is Braza,Graca, they have the best seafood and steak that is well prepared as per request. Guys guys there is a lot to see and do at St Lucia besides seeing the "Elephant hotel" terrible experience. Overall experience I would rather Hilltop stay 💯.

We loved our stay here! Mandy and Simon are very lovely and gave great tips. We arrived and Mandy said one of the restaurants in town had half price sushi which was an absolute treat! The rooms are decorated so beautifully with an animal theme, we had the zebra room! The bed is very comfortable and the room is spacious. I had booked because of all the rave reviews about breakfast and let me just say the breakfast is outstanding! Best breakfast we had on our two month long trip!

St Lucia is truly a beautiful little gem!!

St Lucia is truly a beautiful little gem!! A quaint and quirky town with a great vibe, interesting history, amazing diversity and proudly South African!! One main street with all sorts of interesting little shops and souveniers, easy to get around and safe!! Loved the hippo and croc cruise with Advantage tours, and the self drive through the game reserve to Cape Vidal, a piece of paradise!! Also went for a lovely walk on a nature trail close by which was like walking through a beautiful magical forest, food for the soul!! Wonderful variety of accommoation options and eating spots to choose from, we enjoyed our stay at Turtle Bay Lodge and had great food and excellent service at John Dorys!! The sighting of a hippo walking through the streets of St Lucia was exciting!! Highly recommend this special little town, can't wait to visit again!!(:

Being from London, we loved the ‘Out of Africa’ decor and...

Being from London, we loved the ‘Out of Africa’ decor and experience at 8 Lakeview Cabanas in Saint Lucia where we stayed and were so excited when the hippos walked right past our outdoor veranda area where we were barbecuing one evening…we were so lucky it was a mother hippo and her baby that evening!! We also took a day drive to the nearby National Game Reserve, Hluhluwe, where we saw an abundance of game, including the big five - and a large herd of elephants walked right infront of our car! The Hippo Cruise at Saint Lucia the one afternoon was also a most exceptional experience where we saw countless hippos and also crocs and unique bird life including a hunting fish eagle. We will definitely be back!!

St Lucia is a gem.

St Lucia is a gem. Friendly people, great places to eat, lots to do. Be sure to visit Fishermans Pub, they are the best. As well as maybe Charter a boat with Wavedancer or Vyfster. They are the absolute best. beautiful town, with everything you could possibly need.

I have a lot of favorite places in St Lucia.

I have a lot of favorite places in St Lucia. We ate at Fisherman's, Wimpy and Baraccas. Very easy to get around St Lucia. We visited the iSimangaliso Wetlands, unfortunately a lot more can be done for conservation and to attract tourists. It is not maintained as it should be.

A day visit to Cape Vidal is definitely worth the drive.

A day visit to Cape Vidal is definitely worth the drive. A longer stay would enable a visit to the Western shores of the St.Lucia Lake. The entire area is a natural paradise with the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game park nearby for day visits. The restaurants in St. Lucia are varied and mostly well priced.

This place is surreal.

This place is surreal. There are hippos on the main street evry night as well as warthogs during the day. There are 526 species of birds in the town and surrounds. Access to Isimangaliso and the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserves is easy and convenient. Don't miss this extraordinary place. I recomment Gourmet and Grub as a good venue for food and drink.

We had the most wonderful stay at The ambience guest house!! The place was just amazing and Hennie and Ilze were very attentive at all times to make sure we had everything we needed. They also provided us with all the information for the activities to do in the area. The morning breakfasts were very Nice as well.You can tell everything they do, they do it with their full hearts.
